It can be tough bringing up the sensitive issue of cleaning up clutter with a roommate or family members. But actions speak louder than words, and sometimes all it takes is the right tools or solutions to inspire a cleaner desk, a more organized home entertainment setup, or a few less visible wires/cables around the house. Here are some gift ideas to throw in alongside the more "fun" gifts...

Bluelounge MiniDock
We love minimizing cable clutter as much as possible and Bluelounge's MiniDock removes one cable entirely while charging your iOS device. This dock plugs directly into the charger component and you just plop your iPod Classic, Nano, Touch or iPhone in, making one cord less to worry about. $20

Cobra Tag
Is someone in your life constantly late because they couldn't find their keys...again? Strap the Cobra Tag onto your keychain (or purse/luggage) and use the Android app to make the keys beep for easy retrieval the next time the keys go missing. Best of all, the Cobra tag doubles as a smartphone finder in reverse fashion, the Cobra Tag has a button which rings up the conjoined phone. $60

Plug Hub
Two problem areas for cord chaos are the entertainment center and also around the desk. Power strips are unsightly but a necessary part of powering up tech but there are ways to clean it up. Plug Hub cleverly conceals cable clutter with an elegant design and can even be secured to the bottom of the desk for maximum minimalism. $25

Monoprice Desk-Mounted Monitor Arm
The problem with a cluttered desk are all the accessories that join in amongst your keyboard, mouse or monitor. Monoprice's monitor arm raises monitors (sized from 13"-30") with surprising flexibility across the entire desk, freeing up precious desk top real estate. The system clamps onto the desk rather than the more involved and permanent wall-mounted solution. $18

Logitech Harmony Touch
Do you ever visit a friend's abode and have to play the remote control guessing game? We recently took a look at Logitech's solution and our reviewer was impressed with the evolution of the touch interface. The all-in-one remote can handle nearly any remote controlled device, with easy setup, an attractive-intuitive icon-based channel layout. The latest iteration is stylishly small and improves upon everything which made previous Harmony remotes a consumer favorite. $250

BLaNKcraft Raw Leather USB /Earphone Cable Management
If you're shopping for a frequent traveller who always has their headphones and sync/charge cable close at hand, BLaNKcrafts product is an elegant present to give. This small piece of leather is an elegant way of maintaining control of two essential components for audiophiles on-the-go. $20

OXO Cord Catcher
Sometimes cables are a necessary evil for connections you need to make regularly (e.g. hooking up a digital camera, charging your smartphone, etc). Rid yourself the chances of a USB cable gone missing on the floor with OXO's Cord Catcher a non-slip base designed to hold cords right where you need them. It's a simple yet effective design and can be hidden around the edges of a desk or shelf. $8

IKEA SUMMERA Computer Stand
Those who still prefer the power of a desktop computer, but don't want it take up desk space, here's IKEA's affordable storage solution. The SUMMERA not only frees up space, but keeps your CPU more clean from tumbleweeds of dust and hair from the floor. Easy to install and affordable at just $20

Eye-Fi SD Card
If you thought people's home offices or living spaces are a mess, you probably should take a peek at their photo library. You can help clean up a little bit of their digital life with an Eye-Fi SD card, eliminating one less cable connection and hopefully motivating a new clean start with a new photo library. 4GB - $40/8GB - $60/16GB - $100

Energizer Power & Play Charging System: Wii - XBox 360 - Playstation 3
As good as Logitech's Harmony remote is, it can't replace game controls themselves for playing your favorite titles. For the cluttered gamer on your holiday gift list consider stuffing their stocking with an Energizer charging dock (hopefully alongside a new game). Not only does it reduce cords, but the stand creates a dedicated spot for controls to always return to when not in use. Wii - $20/XBox 360 - $35/Playstation 3 - $30
