Before we all get caught up in our busy lives again, please take some time today to look around and appreciate the effort you put into your home in the past month. There will always be more to do, but it's important to appreciate where you are at and see how far you've come before moving on. I know, in lots of ways, big and small, your home is a better place than it was a month ago, thanks to YOU.
The January Cure is just coming to an end and, as always, I'm going to miss it. My work on Cure is one of the most enjoyable things I get to do all year at Apartment Therapy because of all of you. Every year, I'm more and more inspired by the amazing amount of work you put into your homes and how supportive you are of each other throughout - it's a true "pop-up" community and it's awesome! So, in addition to my congratulations on making it through the Cure, you have my sincere gratitude.
And now, it's time to stop all the scrubbing and enjoy your successes!
• You've got your first full weekend off in a month - relax and celebrate!
For those of you hosting a Cure-end gathering, I hope it's a wonderful way to wrap up this experience and that you and your fellow-gatherers have fun!
MOST IMPORTANTLY, no matter how many (or how few) of the assignments you were able to tackle this month, my hope is that your home is a little bit closer to the place you want it to be.
You know you can keep this up! You have your wish list of what has to happen - and it can, one step at a time. The January Cure is over but you've got all the time in the world to make your home a wonderful place. Now, enjoy the rest of 2015!
Many of you said you wish the Cure was continuing, but part of it's effectiveness is that it has a definite beginning and an end. It will be back, no worries, and I hope you'll all join me again!
But, in the meantime, Adrienne, our wonderful Weekend Editor, has a feature planned that I think will help keep everyone on the path of making their homes better, little by little, week after week. Each weekend, a new quick (all do-able in a few hours, many in a few minutes) project assignment will be published (bright and early on Saturdays - with a special Friday early bird email send ). Just as with the Cure, there is no pressure to keep up exactly or do them all - you'll pick and choose what works best for you and your home, BUT you will have the energy boost of the motivating prompt and the group support in the comments, both of which really help in the task of making your home better, one small project at a time.
The first Weekend Project email will hit your mailbox a week from today - I hope you'll enjoy and keep up the good work!
