DIY IKEA Nasum Basket Shelving

Over on Ikea's inspiration blog, Livet Hemma, their Nasum baskets get turned on their sides and stacked together to make easy storage with a rustic-bohemian vibe.

The Nasum line of baskets is handmade from green banana fiber and solid pine. Banana fiber is a waste product that would otherwise be burned as garbage; instead, it has been recycled into sustainable storage baskets in various sizes and shapes.

To create the casual look, a jute band is wrapped around the baskets and stapled (presumably on the sides) to hold them together. A contrasting turquoise cord adds a decorative touch.

With a simple shelving solution like this, you can easily expand or contract the system down the line by adding or removing baskets — and never worry about getting it to look "perfect."
