Escapes: Ventura

Wow. Last week of August, where did summer go? At least here in LA we get another month (at least) of great beach weather to make up for all that June gloom. I haven't exactly had tons of time for escapes but I did make it to Ventura for the afternoon. Ventura is like a miniature version of Santa Barbara withut all the people and with triple the amount of thrift and vintage stores. Plus, it isn't quite an hour and a half away and driving the coast goes by in a flash. A pretty flash.

I love Ventura because there aren't a million things to do. In my mind there are 3:

1) Main street for vintage stores and sweet coffee shops with yummy flourless chocolate cakes:

Hmmmm. What should I buy?

2) The beach, for walking or lounging.

3) Cruising the quaint streets in search of the perfect california bungalow:

If you're lucky like we were you might even drive behind Angelyne on your way back.
