An appreciation for clean, minimal Scandinavian design and a sophisticated color palette make for a charming and cohesive home with a stunning view over the Financial District in New York City.

Fanis' home is bright and cheerful without being overbearing or overly bold in color. The space feels clean, modern, and is filled with charming details. Upon learning that Stockholm is Fanis' favorite place to visit, it's easy to see how that stylish city has influenced the feel of this well put together home.

My Style: Minimal.

Inspiration: Mostly Scandinavian design. Love to go through other people’s apartments on Instagram.

Favorite Element: The geometric plant pot. Ended up purchasing two. One for indoors and the second for the balcony table.

Biggest Challenge: Entryway. It was quite hard to find a piece of furniture that will fit and won't overwhelm the space. I ended up buying a slim console table from a website in Europe.

What Friends Say: Friends love the simplicity in the design, but more than anything they enjoy the balcony during the summertime.

Biggest Embarrassment: Still trying to adjust myself to the metric system. The carpet ended up being much bigger than expected.

Proudest DIY: The IKEA table in the living room area. Painted the legs all on my own. Considering the fact that I haven't done something similar before it was quite a challenge.

Biggest Indulgence: The view. Especially when the sun sets.

Best Advice: When it comes to small spaces, use light furniture and simple straight lines. Try to stick with a simple color palette. Greys, whites, plus one brighter color always work.

Dream Sources: Scandinavian Design Center, Design Within Reach, Royal Design, Finnish Design Shop, Ambiente Direct.
