Graffiti in the Kids' Room

Over the last few years, particularly with the ever-increasing popularity of Banksy and Shepard Fairey, graffiti has been moving off the streets and into the art gallery. Would you let it all the way into your home? This is exactly what graffiti artist Core BTM did — check it out below the jump!

Core BTM painted this dragon freehand, as a surprise for his three school-age boys who share the room. They think their new dragon, and their Dad, are both pretty darn cool.

While freehand graffiti seems unusual indoors, a lot of us already (perhaps without realizing) graffiti inside our home — using stencils. Stencils and spray paint have long been employed by graffiti artists looking to make easily reproduce-able and memorable statements in the cities in which they live.

Still, it seems bold. Could you invite your local graffiti artist to paint inside your space? Would you?
