Heavy Metal Baby: Skullfly Quilt By Ben Venom

Heavy Metal Baby: Skullfly Quilt By Ben Venom

It's been over six months since we bowed down before Ben Venom's Mega Quilt, and ever since I've wondered what else he's been up to. One of his latest projects is just as mind-blowingly, beautifully metal, but on a much, much smaller scale: a baby quilt for his friends' daughter. I never thought I would say this, but is there anything cuter?

I feel Ben Venom walked an amazingly fine line with his Skullfly baby quilt: it's undeniably a skull, but it's not scary. I've never seen a skull and thought, "Oh, so sweet, that's what a baby needs", but I feel like a baby would do well to sleep under this quilt, guarded by the Skullfly (and Gandalf). I wish I'd gotten to sleep under it- maybe I'd be less afraid. After the baby outgrows the quilt, she'll have an impressive piece of wall art for the rest of her life.

Searches for "heavy metal baby", "heavy metal baby quilt", etc on both Etsy and the web at large yielded only one other result, the Skull Quilt by Bramlor Creations which I find very scary. But as I said- I'm kind of a wuss.

Have you seen, made, or received any awesomely metal baby accoutrements? Please share!
