Ideas to Steal from a Beautiful Dutch Kitchen

If you're looking for interesting, off-the-beaten-path design ideas for your modern kitchen, look no further than this streamlined modern kitchen from Dutch designers Lodder Keukens. Here are five ideas worth stealing for your own space.

1. That super-thick marble edge detail.
Marble countertops are nothing new, but a super-thick edge detail will make yours stand out.

2. A statement-y range hood.
As more and more kitchens are being built without upper cabinets (which limits storage, admittedly, but also makes a small kitchen feel much more airy and spacious), the range hood is really coming into its own as a design element. This range hood isn't showy — it's a simple black metal box — but its understated elegance definitely catches the eye.

3. Cabinets with integrated handles.
The detailing on these cabinets, where the handles are recessed into the cabinet doors themselves, is practical, minimal, and elegant.

4. A palette of cool greys.
Move over, white: cool greys (and blues and greens) are the next big look for the kitchen. This kitchen works a monochromatic palette, with cool grey lower cabinets and charcoal walls that coordinate with the aforementioned range hood. The carrara marble countertop, with its delicate grey veining, is the perfect finishing touch.

5. A gorgeous, scene-stealing floor.
Lest all that cool minimalism leave you feeling a little well, cold, this kitchen is balanced out with a beautiful, warm, chevron wood floor. Adding an interesting floor, be it wood or maybe even a patterned tile, is a great way to keep a kitchen streamlined but still engaging.
