We were immediately drawn to the home of Melbourne store owner Jean-Pierre Heurteau. We understand that to some this house may scream "clutter!" but this is the kind of space that has us intrigued. An impressive mix of art, textiles, mirrors and furniture all packed into a 100+ year old home with great original features- it's a dream come true.

Built just outside Melbourne in the late 1800's, the home was originally built for a Dutch sea captain. What we really like about the building is the original pressed-tin ceilings, painted white timber floors and how well the modern kitchen compliments the rest of the heritage building. The mirrored bed head, chandeliers in every room, aboriginal art and taxidermy are our favorites in the furnishings. Jean-Pierre travels to France 3 times a year to purchase furniture and objects for his home and store, Jean-Pierre Heurteau Design in Armadale, (03) 9576 1349.
