Minimalist Outdoor Shower From Atelier Tradewinds

Atelier Tradewinds is a small Belgian company that designs garden equipment and outdoor furnishings with minimalist appeal. Humdrum objects like wheelbarrows, sprinklers, and coolers take on aesthetic value while serving their primary functional purpose better than their ugly cousins. The Cascade outdoor shower, which connects easily to a garden hose, seems like the ultimate in practical elegance. Get to know the Cascade after the jump...

While the promo photos are lovely—that moat!—we think the Cascade would work just as well in a humbler garden. With its compact design and easy hose hook-up, it could be tucked into the corner of any small urban backyard. The acacia wood frame is set on a couple of nylon gliders so that the shower can easily be moved. The shower tube itself is made of galvanized steel; a simple tap attached to the tube regulates the water pressure.

Looks like fun to us, if a bit cold for this time of year. Maybe by the time it's available in the States, we'll have warmer weather! Either way, we think the simplicity of the design is inspiring.
