Unlike the iPhone, the accessories selection for the HTC Titan is pretty depressing. In hopes of both dressing up the dead serious looking slab 'o WP7 goodness, while also with the goals of protecting the front from scratches, I ordered the Skinomi Natural Wood Series application, a combo pack of screen protector with faux bois texture appliqué for the backside. The results proved to be a mixed bag...

After reading several solid reviews about Skinomi's Techskin screen protector, I placed an order for their Dark Wood Series Skin Protector, setting me back just under $20. Everything arrived in a nicely packed tube: screen protector, back cover appliqué, spray bottle, plastic squeegee, and instructions. The process is pretty clear cut and we got the Techskin on without problems (and just like the instructions note, small bubbles and marks disappeared by the next morning); just keep your fingers clean, take your time, and it's as easy any other screen protector I've used before.

As much as I was pleased with the results of the protective application to the screen, I was equally frustrated by the results of the wood appliqué. Despite being designed to specifically fit the HTC Titan, the laser cut stickers proved to have trouble fitting the curvilinear corners of the phone. Even with patience and using a hair dryer on low temp setting (to soften the appliqué), the sticker just would not fit with acceptable results onto the phone. I guess this why everyone has moved onto cases, rather than stickers. I ended up removing all but the largest faux wood panel from the phone, and even this large piece gives signs it will peel off in time, due to the fact it's thick enough to catch on edges.

Bottom Line: Skinomi has produced a solid screen protector with their Skinomi Techskin (recommended by itself), but I can't recommend the Natural Wood Series Skin set for reasons of fit and finish once applied to the phone.

Pros: Techskin applies easy and dries to a protective finish, faux bois wood stickers look great.
Cons: Despite being custom cut to fit the phone, back panel appliqué peeled off at edges/smaller pieces.
