Talk to professional photographers and they may wax poetic about their new DSLR, or better yet, the $2,000 lens separating everyday shooters from professionals. But where skilled photographers really separate themselves from us normal folks is their understanding about lighting, as shown here using an iPhone and a $10 IKEA lamp...

Here's an example of how a lighting source changes everything. Professional photographer Philippe Echaroux went out and purchased a $9 Tertial IKEA task lamp and snapped several photos manipulating the lamp to result in dramatic lighting. The resulting portrait is quite stunning and proves

Admittedly, there's a little post-processing involved, but it was all done using the $4.99 iOS app, Photoshop Touch, proving the iPhone can be a more than serviceable portrait taking studio-in-hand.
